Apostle Dr. Joseph Serwadda Delivers Powerful Easter Message: “The Power That Raised Jesus Can Uplift Uganda”

Presiding Apostle Dr. Joseph Serwadda, a senior leader of the Born Again Faith and a member of the Uganda Inter-Religious Council, delivered a stirring Easter sermon at Victory Christian Centre in Kampala, centered on the resurrection of Jesus Christ and its significance for Uganda today.

Drawing from Mark 16:9, Apostle Serwadda reminded the congregation that Jesus rose early on the first day of the week, a moment that marked victory over death and sin. He emphasized that this resurrection power is still active and transformative not only for individuals but for entire nations.

In his message, the Apostle reflected on Luke 23:50, highlighting the noble act of a wealthy, silent council member who offered his tomb for Jesus’ burial. He praised this gesture as a symbol of courage and silent service, encouraging believers to act boldly in times of uncertainty.

Quoting John 20:19 and Colossians 2:16, he expounded on the spiritual authority believers have through Christ’s resurrection, noting that the barriers which held Jesus in the tomb like the sealed stone were rolled away by divine power.

Addressing journalists after the first service, Dr. Serwadda delivered a compelling Easter message for the nation.

“In this Easter season, we are reminded that the stone at Jesus’ tomb was not just moved  it was rolled away by the power of God. That same power is here today, not only to roll away the storms in our personal lives but to uproot systems of oppression, fear, and spiritual decay.”

He added that Uganda is at a defining crossroads, grappling with political manipulation, corruption, and religious compromise that threaten the country’s moral and social fabric. However, he firmly declared that the resurrection of Jesus is a sign of hope and transformation.

“Easter declares, with all its power, that Jesus is risen. The same power that raised Him from the dead is able to lift Uganda out of political greed and spiritual deception. This is not a time to be silent. It is a time to rise in faith, to pray fervently, and to speak the truth with courage.”

In line with the season, Apostle Serwadda also announced the release of his new book, "Ten Reasons Why I Cannot Live Unsaved," which explores the personal and spiritual convictions that anchor his faith in Christ. The book is expected to resonate with many, particularly those seeking deeper meaning in their walk with God.

Apostle Serwadda’s Easter message was not just a religious call but a national clarion urging Ugandans to awaken to a higher purpose, embrace righteousness, and boldly confront the challenges facing the country with hope rooted in the resurrection of Christ.
