Rt. Hon. Speaker Anita Among Unanimously Endorsed by Buyende NRM Delegates for CEC Position

Buyende, Uganda – In a show of overwhelming support and unity, the Rt. Hon. Speaker of Parliament, Anita Among, has received a unanimous endorsement from National Resistance Movement (NRM) delegates across all sub-counties of Buyende District to represent them on the party’s Central Executive Committee (CEC). The endorsement was made during a highly attended strategic meeting convened at the residence of Hon. Moses Magogo, the area Member of Parliament for Budiope East.
The gathering brought together grassroots NRM leaders, including district executives, sub-county chairpersons, women and youth league representatives, as well as local opinion leaders who expressed their unwavering confidence in Speaker Among’s leadership, commitment to the NRM ideology, and her tireless advocacy for inclusive development.
They praised Speaker Among’s sterling leadership at the helm of Uganda’s Parliament and her consistent efforts to promote the NRM’s values of patriotism, pan-Africanism, socio-economic transformation, and democracy. Speaker Anita Among has proven to be a steady hand in turbulent times, a strong woman with deep loyalty to the NRM, and a champion of development and unity. We are proud to endorse her for the Central Executive Committee.
Delegates from all sub-counties echoed similar sentiments, citing Speaker Among’s track record in fostering institutional stability, empowering women and youth, and advocating for rural development. In accepting the endorsement, Rt. Hon. She also commended the leadership of Hon. Magogo for organizing the delegates’ meeting and for his active engagement in strengthening the NRM’s base in the district.
The CEC, as the topmost organ of the ruling party, plays a pivotal role in shaping policy direction, supervising party programs, and advising the party chairman—President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni—on strategic matters.
