MP Mutembuli Donates Shs1 Million to Support Oluhuje Festival in Mbale

Mbale, Uganda –

Bunyole East MP, Counsel Yusuf Mutembuli, has pledged Shs1 million in support of the upcoming Oluhuje Festival, a vibrant cultural event celebrating the Banyole community. The festival is slated for May 17, 2025, at Nakaloke Playground in Mbale Northern City Division.

On Tuesday morning, MP Mutembuli hosted the Oluhuje organizing committee at his home in Bugema, Mbale Industrial City Division. The delegation was led by Commissioner Kadimba Hussein, the Eastern Region president of the Banyole living outside Butaleja District.

During the meeting, Mutembuli handed over a cash contribution of Shs500,000 and pledged an additional Shs500,000. He also served breakfast to the committee members and presented Commissioner Kadimba with a hen, in a symbolic gesture of appreciation for their dedication to cultural preservation.

“I thank you for uplifting the profile of the Banyole and promoting our heritage, especially the Lunyole language,” Mutembuli remarked. “I am equally grateful to the people of Bugisu and other communities for embracing and collaborating with us.”

Commissioner Kadimba lauded the MP’s continued support, emphasizing the festival's role in fostering unity and cultural pride.

“Oluhuje is a celebration of togetherness—sharing meals, knowing each other, and enjoying music. We’ve lined up entertainers to give guests a memorable experience,” Kadimba said, while officially inviting the MP to attend the festival in person.

The event is expected to attract a wide range of attendees, with the Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Anita Annet Among, anticipated as the Guest of Honour.
