As political preparations intensify ahead of the next general election, Mwesigye Fred Isanga has officially declared his intention to contest for Member of Parliament for Nakaseke North Constituency, vowing to be a voice for justice, development, and opportunity
In his declaration, Mwesigye cited urgent local challenges, including rampant land grabbing, youth unemployment, and inadequate social services, as core issues he intends to address if elected to Parliament.
“Our people are suffering because of unresolved land conflicts. Land grabbing is tearing families apart and creating insecurity in our communities,” he stated. “One of my top priorities is to fight this injustice and protect the land rights of our people.
A passionate advocate for rural transformation, Mwesigye’s manifesto outlines a development-focused agenda built around key pillars: Ending land grabbing through policy enforcement and community sensitization Creating employment opportunities for the youth through skills development and enterprise support Improving education and health services, especially in underserved areas Developing infrastructure, such as roads and electricity, to connect and grow rural communities Establishing a processing plant to support farmers in beef and milk production, ensuring value addition and better market access Lobbying for impactful government and donor-funded projects to improve livelihoods and reduce poverty

“It’s time we stopped empty promises. I want to be a true representative of the people, one who brings practical solutions and fights for development and dignity,” he said during a community meeting in the constituency
