From Power to Portraits: Ssebalamu Vows to Turn State House into a Museum in 2026 Presidential Bid

Nasser Kakumba Ssebalamu has officially declared his candidacy for the 2026 presidential elections, unveiling his bold vision for Uganda under the banner of the Umoja Alliance political party.
Speaking at a press conference held at Hotel Africana, Ssebamala introduced his campaign slogan, "The Moving Brain," symbolizing a shift toward progressive, intelligent, and people-centered leadership.
Themed “Uganda Belongs to All,” Ssebamala’s campaign calls for inclusive governance and shared national ownership. He laid out a sweeping reform agenda aimed at transforming the political and economic landscape of Uganda.
In a passionate address, Ssebalamu vowed to repurpose the State Houses in Nakasero and Entebbe into national museums a symbolic step to “return power to the people” and redefine the purpose of leadership and governance in Uganda.
He pledged to restore federalism, empowering regional governments to take control of their development agendas. He also promised tax holidays for small businesses and reduced taxes across key sectors to stimulate economic growth and reduce the burden on ordinary citizens.
Other pillars of his campaign include economic independence, constitutionalism, rule of law, citizen participation, accountability, and non alignment in international affairs. Ssebamala stressed the importance of building a nation grounded in brotherhood, Godliness, and transparency.
“Our vision is rooted in justice, fairness, and inclusivity,” Ssebalamu stated. “Uganda must be a nation where every citizen is heard, respected, and given a fair chance to thrive.”
As Uganda heads toward a critical election, Ssebamala’s message of reform and unity is expected to energize voters seeking genuine change.
