Road to FUFA Assembly 2025: List of Delegates to FUFA Assembly 2025–2029, Presidential Nominations Next

The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) Electoral Committee has officially released the list of 69 duly elected delegates to the FUFA General Assembly for the 2025–2029 term. This milestone comes following a successful countrywide electoral exercise that covered Regional Football Associations, the FUFA Big League, National Women Leagues, and Special Interest Groups.

The FUFA General Assembly, which serves as the supreme decision-making body of Ugandan football, is composed of 88 delegates. The remaining 19 positions will be filled by individual delegates from each Uganda Premier League club, thereby completing the full composition of the Assembly.

According to the FUFA Electoral Committee, the recently concluded delegate elections reflect the commitment to inclusivity and representation across various football governance structures in Uganda. However, the committee also announced the postponement of the electoral process in the North East region (Teso), following a petition from a nominated candidate. The postponement affects the election of three delegates from that region. A new date will be communicated to stakeholders in due course.

In addition to the delegates' announcement, the FUFA Electoral Committee confirmed that the electoral process will now transition into the next phase—nominations for the FUFA Presidency. This follows Article 40(2) of the FUFA Statutes, which mandates members of FUFA to propose candidates for the office of the President.

The FUFA General Assembly is scheduled to take place on 5th July 2025 in Hoima, marking a crucial event in shaping the future leadership and strategic direction of football in Uganda for the next four years.

This Assembly will not only usher in new leadership through elections but will also provide a platform for reviewing key policies, administrative reforms, and progress in local football development.

As the countdown to the Assembly begins, all eyes remain on the next critical phase—the nomination of presidential candidates and the finalization of delegates from the North East region.
