Tecno Launches Camon 40 in Uganda, Strengthens Business Ties with MTN
Tecno Mobile has officially launched its latest smartphone, the Camon 40, in a high-profile event at Arena Mall, Kampala. The new device, widely regarded as one of Tecno’s best in photography, boasts advanced artificial intelligence (AI) features and enhanced user-friendliness. Additionally, it is water-resistant, making it a durable choice for smartphone users.
Bruce Dickson, Tecno’s product consultant, emphasized the Camon 40’s cutting-edge capabilities, stating that the device sets a new benchmark in mobile photography while integrating AI to provide a seamless user experience.
As part of its strategic expansion, Tecno has partnered with MTN Uganda to enhance the availability of its products across the country. Ian Magambe, MTN Uganda’s Device Manager, highlighted the telecom giant’s commitment to digital transformation and accessibility.
“MTN has introduced multiple digital platforms, including MoMo Markets, and has expanded its distribution network significantly. With over 200 direct shops and distributors nationwide, alongside Tecno’s own retail points, we now have between 8,000 to 10,000 outlets where customers can access premium smartphones,” Magambe explained.
This partnership underscores a growing synergy between mobile technology and digital services, ensuring that Ugandans have access to top-tier smartphones at competitive prices. The Camon 40’s AI enhancements and improved durability are expected to attract both professional and casual users, further boosting Tecno’s market presence in Uganda.
